What to do when Life gets you...

Sometimes, life gives you a big kick in the butt. Your car breaks down, your furnace quits, or maybe you darn goat breaks his leg. Trust me I think we have all been there so many times. I know I have. What do we do about it?
I'm not even sure there is a single solid answer to that question. I have been told "work harder and you life will improve." "have faith and your life will straighten out." "just BELIEVE that it will be okay and it will!" at this point in my life I roll my eyes at those statements. One thing I have noticed is that the people who often say such things never really dealt with bad life issues. Its hard to think that even if you are working your butt off and NOT succeeding that it is because your not working hard enough, or that your horrible luck in life is due to your complete lack of faith... Even if you have faith... I can honestly say I have had my fair share of crap luck in my life. Struggle doesn't even cover some of it.
I would list all the bad stuff but that will be for another post. for now I just wanted to say.
KEEP AT IT
That is all you can do. If it is all going wrong often there is no logical thing you can actually do to stop it from happening. You can just push forward and take one day at a time. I have some advice from one human to another.
1. It is OKAY to cry and be upset. Don't let anyone try to guilt you for being upset or stressed out. A lot of the time it isn't even something you can control. I know my anxiety isn't...
2. Keep doing the things you love. Just because everything is going wrong doesn't mean you have to punish yourself by neglecting you passions or hobbies.
3. Take care of your health. Feel your body and pay attention to how you are feeling physically too. Your mental health can affect your physical health.
4. and last but not least by any means. Get outside. Sit in your back yard, walk in the woods, take your pets out to play, go camping, go hiking. Do SOMETHING outdoors. This is one of my biggest stress relief tactics.
Moral of the story? Even people who are taking steps towards their dream future get stressed and have a plethora of issues. I still work a full time job while also managing my small farmstead and household of 2 adults, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 frog, 1 rabbit, 35 or so chickens, and 4 adult goats and 2 kids (plus 2 or 3 more kids when Lilly pops). I get stressed but I take it one step at a time. I breath in and out and play with baby goats. Now that is natural stress relief if I ever had one.
ANYWAY
Maybe next post will be more about farmstead and less about being stressed out. We shall see!
